Senior Software Developer (Permanent full time)

Neilson Financial Services provides the UK market with a suite of innovative consumer focused life insurance products. We distribute a range of comprehensive, affordable life insurance products that allow UK families to get the life insurance protection they need for complete peace of mind.

Central to the Neilson business is our marketing function and we therefore require a Senior Software Developer to join our Solution Architecture team.

Does this sound like you?
• A graduate with a Computer Science degree
• Proven experience of designing and developing a greenfield solution
• Considerable experience in software development including experience of using C#, Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2008 (Schema Design, Stored Procedures, Views, Functions)
• Extensive experience using WCF, MVC3\MVC4, web interface design and the use of CSS styling
• A passion for software development and experience of working in the presentation, service and persistence layers
• Experience of using Object Oriented patterns and practices
• A strong problem solver and designer of solutions
• Continuous Integration Experience such as (Team City)
• Experience in working in an Agile environment
• An understanding of ORM tools such as Entity Framework

In this role you will:
• Be instrumental in developing a new software system that will support our rapidly growing business
• Understand the customer’s requirements and develop a solution to meet these requirements
• Work closely with the Solution Architects and a team to ensure that the critical system is delivered on time and to specification
• Design new functionality with the development team
• Apply the best combination of theory and practice to create the best solution
• Work as part of a flexible, committed and busy team
